The Boathouse is situated on the banks of the River Thames in the delightful Oxfordshire market town of Wallingford. It is an original converted Boathouse which features a large conservatory style roof. The Boathouse has been recently refurbished with a Café style bar feel with a very interesting menu. It caters for all ages. Although popular for diners during the day and early evening, the pub also attracts younger people in the evening, and has a loyal business clientele during the day.

Best place in town the others are dives..!! Can get very very busy on sunny days but they try to do their best considering the amount of people that fight for a seat next to the river. It gets flooded and swamped at least once a month. Great little gem by the Thames.

I'm sorry that being Scottish makes you feel foreign.! Being mostly Scot myself. We look nothing like a sports bar, far from it actually..! You were not victimised we did not screen the England friendly the night b4. There is no advertisement for sports on the premesis.. We are very consistant we do not show sport after 5pm on fri and Sat (when this game was scheduled). Just to stop your confusion in the future I will stop all sports and direct all the dissappointed people your way. Unfortunatly for many and to the relief of the better clientele of Wallingford we have changed the old reputation of being a sports bar and are evolving into a rounded/female friendly business with offers for all..

Not ideal if you are classed as a foreigner i.e. Scottish! On entering this pub you would think it was a sports bar as it advertises all major football matches on a chalk board outside. It has big screens as well.
However when I asked if Scotland v Italy match could be put on after the Wales v R.Ireland match, I was told by the Manager "we are not a sports bar" so he refused! There was only 7 people in the pub at the time. He also used the excuse that he once screened a Liverpool match and 30 people walked out!!
The Boathouse needs to be consistent in what image it wants to portray to its customers or could it be that the management are being selective? .........
